Dr. Malia Cali is a board-certified physiatrist who joins The Steadman Clinic team as a sports medicine and interventional spine specialist. Her practice focuses on the non-operative management of acute and chronic musculoskeletal pain and injuries, including disorders of the bones, joints, muscles, and nerves. She performs fluoroscopically (x-ray) guided interventional spine procedures, diagnostic and interventional ultrasound procedures, and is a specialist in regenerative medicine.

Prior to earning her medical degree from LSU Medical School at New Orleans in her home state of Louisiana, she competed as a collegiate athlete on the Cross-Country and Track teams at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. There she discovered her passion for the field of sports medicine, graduating with honors as a Bachelors of Science in Biology and a Chemistry minor.

She went on to complete a Residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus where she served as Chief Resident. She then completed a Fellowship in Sports Medicine at the University of Washington in Seattle. There she further developed her interventional skills and also provided sideline coverage and medical care for elite athletes including UW Division I Men’s Soccer, the XFL Seattle Sea Dragons, the Seattle Marathon, and Ironman Washington.
