Often the first place women can encounter opioid medications, and thus the potential for opioid addiction, is in the hospital while having their first child. To actively combat the opioid crisis in our community, Vail Health's Family Birth Center implemented a new strategy and medication plan to help new mothers use less opioid medication while also reducing the pain of vaginal or cesarean births. To help combat the rise of the opioid crisis, and in acknowledgement that opioid addiction can occur after treatment in hospitals, Vail Health's nurses from the PCU (Patient Care Unit) proactively began an initiative called the Comfort Menu, a guide aimed to reduce the use of opioids by our patients while in our care. The results speak for themselves: patients in less pain, using fewer opioid medications, and in less danger of developing addiction. Jared Seibert, MD, is the new Otolaryngologist at Colorado Mountain Medical. Dr. Seibert is a Midwest native who fell in love with the Rocky Mountains during his undergraduate studies. After completing 13 years as an Otolaryngologist in the US Army, Dr. Seibert has decided to make the mountains of Colorado his home. He is trained and adept at diagnosing and treating disorders of the head and neck: hearing and chronic ear conditions, nasal obstruction, facial trauma, sinusitis and allergy, thyroid nodules, head and neck cancer, pediatric ENT conditions, snoring and sleep apnea to name a few. There's many misconceptions around using sunscreen and skincare products during the winter ski season. Dr. Clare Foss, dermatologist at Colorado Mountain Medical, has the breakdown and tips.
Dr. Clare Foss is a board certified dermatologist at Colorado Mountain Medical. She was born in Michigan but spent most of her childhood in Georgia. After graduating from Georgia Tech with highest honors, she received her MD from the Medical College of Georgia where she was awarded a Faculty Scholarship for academic achievement. Dr. Foss completed an internship in internal medicine and residency in dermatology at Eastern Virginia Medical School. She developed a love of skiing and the Rocky Mountains at a young age on spring break trips to Colorado with her family. She and her family moved to Colorado in 2012 where she has served patients in both the Roaring Fork and Vail Valley. Dr. Foss enjoys medical dermatology which allows her to treat people of all ages for their skin, hair and nail concerns. Outside the office, she loves to spend time with her husband and two children skiing, biking, hiking and playing golf.
Dr. Monnet was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma and is a new resident of the Vail Valley. She's a new OBGYN at Colorado Mountain Medical, and specializes in robotic surgery. She grew up skiing here in the mountains and knew this is where she wanted to call home one day. Her interests include minimally invasive surgery, adolescent gynecology, and endometriosis. She was trained on the Da Vinci robot and is working towards bringing this service to patients in the Vail Valley. She moved to the area with her husband, Ben (a Colorado native), and is excited to experience all that the mountains have to offer. She likes to ski, fish, and go on long walks with her husband and black lab, Luke. Dr. Monnet is excited to provide quality, evidence-based health care to her CMM patients.

Jerry Greenberg, MD, is a board-certified cardiologist with Vail Health's Cardiovascular Center, specializing in interventional cardiology. He has extensive experience in the use of intravascular ultrasound and other imaging equipment to identify heart conditions and ensure proper treatment. Dr. Greenberg was recognized by 5280 Magazine as a top doctor in 2013, among other notable honors during his impressive career. Dr. Greenberg was educated at the New Jersey College of Medicine before doing a cardiology fellowship at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. He was with Aurora Denver Cardiology Associates for 30 years and traveled to Vail regularly to see patients during this time.
