VVMC Names New VP of Development
Vail Valley Medical Center recently announced the addition of Stephanie Spence JD LL.M to serve as the senior vice president of development.
Stephanie brings over 14 years of nonprofit campaign design and leadership experience to VVMC and has a proven track record in team building and community engagement said Doris Kirchner president and CEO of Vail Valley Medical Center. VVMC has grown to become one the most advanced medical centers in any mountain community and much of that is credited to the generosity of our donors which Ms. Spence will direct and continue to help our medical center grow through philanthropy.
Spence joins VVMC after serving as a Senior Development Officer at the University of Colorado Foundation on the Anschutz Medical Campus where she helped lead the organization's $1.5 billion campaign.
In addition to her six-year tenure with the University of Colorado she has created and implemented successful statewide and national philanthropic campaigns at the University of Denver the National Multiple Sclerosis Society Colorado Chapter the Denver Botanic Gardens and the California Association of Bilingual Education.
Spence also brings with her valuable experience gained as a practicing attorney in Foley & Lardner LLP's health law section as well as PricewaterhouseCoopers' individual and international tax consulting groups.
The addition of Ms. Stephanie Spence to lead our development team is refreshing said Dr. Jack Eck senior director of development at VVMC. She brings great leadership and fundraising skills and our sophisticated donors can now be assisted by her knowledgeable background to facilitate their giving.
Spence earned her law degree and LL.M in Taxation from the University Of Denver College Of Law her master's degree in English Literature from Claremont University and a bachelor's degree in English Literature from the University of California at Los Angeles.
I value establishing and cultivating relationships and look forward to working with staff and donors to achieve long-term mission goals said Spence. I'm passionate about helping the medical center grow and couldn't be happier to move to the Vail Valley.
An ardent volunteer her memberships and relationships include the Colorado Planned Giving Roundtable the Boulder Valley Humane Society and the American Colorado and Denver Bar Associations. She is also an avid athlete - passionate about health fitness and wellbeing.
