Surgeons from The Steadman Clinic Attend the Birds of Prey Ski Event
As the only men's World Cup stop in the United States the Birds of Prey ski event has evolved into one of the world's premier ski races. Held in Beaver Creek the roster of the world's greatest skiers join together for three days of racing action. Joining the elite athletes on the mountain were several surgeons from The Steadman Clinic. Drs. Marc Philippon Randy Viola and Tom Hackett were all on-hand at the event where they tested the slopes for themselves met with athletes and were stationed on the mountain and ready in the event of injury. Dr. Richard Steadman was also at the event. It was his great love of the sport of skiing that originally prompted him to locate his practice in Vail 25 years ago and he says seeing the U.S. athletes on the snow is one of the great rewards of the job.
