The Emergency Department (ED) is a 24-hour Level III Trauma Center staffed by board-certified emergency physicians.

The American College of Emergency Physicians recommends that patients visit  The Emergency Department if the following warning signs are exhibited.

•  Difficulty breathing, shortness of breath
•  Chest or upper abdominal pain or pressure
•  Fainting, sudden dizziness, weakness
•  Changes in vision
•  Confusion or changes in mental status
•  Any sudden or severe pain
•  Uncontrolled bleeding
•  Severe or persistent vomiting or diarrhea
•  Coughing or vomiting blood
•  Suicidal feelings
•  Difficulty speaking
•  Shortness of breath
•  Unusual abdominal pain

Please note, children may display different symptoms than adults. Always get immediate medical attention if you think a child is having a medical emergency.

•  Minor fractures
•  Respiratory or urinary tract infections
•  Sprains and strains
•  Intestinal illness, including dehydration and more

Plus, our on-site laboratory allows Gypsum Urgent Care to perform advanced diagnostic studies so patients don't have to travel to the hospital. An urgent care visit is almost always more affordable than a visit to the Emergency Department.

Beaver Creek Medical Center

Beaver Creek Medical Center is an emergency department located slope side in the Strawberry Park Building in Beaver Creek. During the ski/snowboard season, the Medical Center is open seven days/week, 8 AM to 5:30 PM, including holidays. Closed in the off-season.

•  Staffed by board-certified physicians and emergency trained nurses
•  Wound, orthopaedic and respiratory care
•  On-site X-ray and teleradiology capabilities
•  Lab services, such as urinalysis, quick strep, influenza, pregnancy, occult blood and glucose. Arrangements can be made to have other lab tests transported to the hospital lab for completion.
•  Physical therapy care provided on-site by Howard Head Sports Medicine
•  Commonly used prescription drugs and over-the-counter medications also available
•  Appointments not necessary
