Vail Valley Medical Center has offered "Cardiac 180," a cardiac rehabilitative service for the community, since the Fall of 1999. We are committed to providing exceptional cardiac care to those who have experienced a significant "heart event" or are involved in the maintenance and prevention of further disease. Through monitored exercise, clinical support and education, the Cardiac 180 team works closely with patients to help them achieve their personal goals.
THE REHABILITATION PROCESS
- Phase I - inpatient education
- Phase II - outpatient EKG-monitored exercise, sessions available: Monday, Wednesday, Friday at 8:30 AM and 9:30 AM
- Phase III - outpatient supervised exercise: Monday, Wednesday, Friday any time between 7:30 AM and 11:30 AM
- Pharmacy consults
- Nutritional consults
Cardiac 180's multi-disciplinary team is led by Dr. Lawrence W. Gaul, FACC, cardiologist at Avanti Cardiology. ACLS-certified RNs, exercise physiologists, pharmacists and dietitians complete our care team.

The Cardiac Rehabilitation department meets Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) standards and is American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR) certified.
