Student Clinical Experience

Thank you for your interest in Howard Head’s clinical education program. For current physical therapy students enrolled in an APTA accredited program and interested in a clinical rotation, we require a strong orthopaedic background, a letter of intent, your current resume, and a phone interview prior to acceptance into our program. Due to the high volume, fast paced nature of our clinics, students are typically in the third year of their academic program and/or have completed one orthopaedic or sports rotation as part of their prior clinical experience.  As a student you will be placed at a single clinic, but you will also be able to spend time at some of our other locations in order to obtain exposure to the greatest breadth of patient care and learning opportunities our company has to offer. Some of the therapeutic specialties offered include: hand therapy, orthopaedic and total joint rehabilitation, sports rehabilitation, vestibular rehabilitation, aquatic therapy, women’s health programming, Pilates, dry needling and lymphedema therapy.  In addition to helping students fine tune the basics that every musculoskeletal therapist uses on a daily basis, we strive to expose students to many of the components that make up the world of sports medicine so that they feel comfortable moving forward in this area of practice upon graduation.
