Biography

Dr. Wayne W. Wenzel is a triple board-certified radiologist specializing in diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine. He is a graduate of Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, IN. He completed his residency at Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Medical Center in Denver after being called to serve his country as a general medical officer/radiologist Class B for Barksdale Air Force Base in Shreveport, LA.
 
Dr. Wenzel is a fellow of the American College of Radiology and has served on the Board of Directors at Vail Valley Medical Center for approximately 15 years. He has also served as the director of medical imaging at Vail Valley Medical Center.
 
In addition to Dr. Wenzel’s duties as a radiologist, he has been very active in the medical community, including time spent as the MSK Imaging Fellowship Program chairman at Diversified Radiology. He has also been appointed to such positions as assistant clinical professor of radiology – nuclear medicine at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, president of the Colorado Radiological Society and medical director Bossier Base for the Defense Atomic Support Agency - Top Secret Clearance.
 
Dr. Wenzel has further experience as an editorial board member of the Journal of Clinical Ultrasound and Journal of Nuclear Medicine, as well as writing several publications in local and national medical journals.
