Our Cancer Research & Community Partners

Shaw Regional Cancer Center has established relationships with community partners that focus on cancer awareness and care such as the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Aspen Affiliate. The cancer center also has partnerships with university and national cancer programs focusing on cancer research and treatment.

VBAGVail Breast Cancer Awareness Group
The Vail Breast Cancer Awareness Group (VBAG) supports the Sonnenalp Breast Center and its patients with an annual gift. In addition, VBAG has granted the Breast Center a $50,000 fund to help support women in need of diagnostic imaging and genetic counseling services. Eligible women are gifted $500 to help offset medical bills related to diagnostic services at the center. Additionally, eligible women in need of genetic counseling services are given $300. Patients must be Eagle County residents, have a $2,000 or higher deductible and indicate that they are in need of the financial assistance. For more information on VBAG funding, please call (970) 569-7695.

Susan G. Komen for the Cure Aspen Affiliate
Shaw Regional Cancer Center and the Aspen affiliate of the Komen Foundation work in concert to provide the best care possible to women with breast cancer.  We collaborate to provide survivorship services, education and free mammograms.

University of Colorado Cancer Center
Through clinical trials performed at the University of Colorado Cancer Center, our medical staff learns new ways to improve health and cancer care. With a continuous dialog among the cancer care providers, patients in both settings are ensured to receive optimal care.

American Cancer Society
The American Cancer Society offers the "Look Good Feel Better" program to help patients in treatment with hair and beauty tips and products. The class is held monthly at Jack's Place.
