The VVMC Operating Room consists of a 4-room surgical suite on the 3rd floor at the Vail Campus, and cares for pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric surgical patients.

We are a full-service OR, but we do not provide surgical services for cardiovascular, open heart, organ transplantation or neuro- surgeries. Actual staffing is based on patient census and acuity. The nurse to patient ratio is a minimum of one RN Circulating Nurse per patient. There may be a Registered Nurse or a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) scrubbed on some cases.

In the winter, the OR is open 7 days a week. During the summer, the OR is open Monday - Friday. All other hours are covered by "on call" staff.
