The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Department is a four-bed unit which focuses on delivering the highest level of safe, compassionate, culturally sensitive and cost-effective care within a technologically advanced health care environment.

We provide treatment and services to all levels of patient care from newborns through geriatrics. The majority of the patient population that we manage is Cardiac, Trauma and Spinal Surgeries.

• Our average daily patient ratio in the ICU for 2007 was approximately 2.5.
• The unit is staffed with two registered nurses for each 12-hour shift. 
• Staff nurse to patient ratio is approximately 1:2.
• ICU staff are responsible for the Level III Trauma Team, the Code Blue Team
• ICU staff help with the insertion of Intra Aortic Balloon Pumps (IABP).
