Food & Nutrition
The mission of the Food and Nutrition Department is to improve patients' lives through quality nutritional care and expert education. We provide our in-patients with wholesome, nourishing and well-balanced meals that will add to their treatment and recovery. Another function is to provide our patients with education for their nutritional needs while in the hospital and in every day life. The Clinical Dietitians offer counseling for many conditions including:Cancer Cardiovascular Disease Diabetes, Eating Disorders Gastrointestinal Problems Personal Wellness Sports Nutrition Prenatal and Pediatric Care Weight Management.
Some insurance plans cover a Dietitian consultant when ordered by a physician. We suggest that you call your insurance company to find out if your plans covers a dietitian consultation. The Registered Dietitians are available by appointment to meet with individuals to develop personal eating plans for their nutrition needs and lifestyles. Research continues to show that a nutritious diet can be the best medicine for reducing risk of disease. There are hundreds of health claims that can be confusing and overwhelming.
