Vail Valley Medical Center has offered cardiac rehab services to the community since the Fall of 1999.  We are committed to providing exceptional cardiac care while increasing community health awareness. We exist to provide a professional environment, delivering outstanding care to those individuals who have experienced a significant “heart event” or are involved in maintenance and prevention of further disease. Monitored exercise, clinical support and education are pivotal aspects in achieving these goals.

Cardiac Rehab operates with a multi-disciplinary team under the direction of Lawrence W. Gaul, F.A.C.C., cardiologist at Avanti Cardiology.  ACLS certified RNs, exercise physiologists, pharmacists and dietitians complete our care team.

• Phase I  - Inpatient Education
• Phase II  - Outpatient EKG monitored exercise, sessions available : M,W,F 8:30 AM, 9:30AM
• Phase III - Outpatient supervised exercise
• Pharmacy Consults
• Nutritional Consults

Our department meets JCAHO standards and is AACVPR certified. The goal of Cardiac Rehab is to help make patients feel stronger and more confident than they did before starting the program.
