Welcome to your Hospital.Everyday, Vail Valley Medical Center impacts hundreds of patients’ lives in very meaningful ways. Whether it’s life-saving surgery, genuinely world-class orthopaedics, gentle-touch pediatrics, compassionate women’s health services or leading edge cancer care, extraordinary people means extraordinary care. And those extraordinary people work at Vail Valley Medical Center. Health care has changed dramatically over the past decade. You’ll find Vail Valley Medical Center at the forefront of those changes. We’ve grown to become a true regional health care resource with facilities, services and programs that no longer fit the stereotype of a rural inpatient hospital. Providing the only Certified Level III Trauma Center within Eagle, Summit, Lake, Grand and Routt counties is an important responsibility that we take very seriously. To be the best when people need us most, we are committed to combining experienced emergency and trauma surgery teams with advanced diagnostic resources and strong intensive and inpatient care services. Led by emergency physicians and trauma surgeons who are accomplished and respected in their fields, we provide a level and volume of care more common to larger metropolitan centers. And because this level of care requires a significant investment in physician specialists, technology and facilities, it strengthens our entire system. Supporting our emergency and trauma capabilities are specialists in Orthopaedics, Urology, Cardiology, Ear, Nose and Throat, Anesthesiology, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Infectious Disease, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Family Practice, Radiology, Internal Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology and Pediatrics—capabilities that are unusual for a hospital of our size and location. While prevention and managing risk are always the best choices to avoid traumatic emergencies, sometimes accidents happen. And when people need us most, we’re prepared and equipped to handle all levels of emergency medical care, around the clock.
