The Vail Valley Medical Center Foundation has used donation dollars to support several programs, purchase equipment, train nursing staff, and offer more services at the Vail Valley Medical Center. Within the past several years we have used the money given by our generous donors to expand our physician coverage for cardiology, purchase breast imaging diagnostic equipment, and operate our Shaw Cancer Center Library to name a few. To learn more about services available at the Vail Valley Medical Center, check out our 2009 Community Report

Programs We Support:

Eagle Care Medical Clinic:
Providing medical care to the uninsured and underinsured, the Eagle Care Medical Clinic offers a wide range of services from pediatrics to women’s health.

Emergency Department:
The time has come to rebuild the ED and create a functional space to support both staff and patients. In 2009, our Annual Appeal raised $62,126 for the Emergency Department and our Dinner Dance raised $275,546. We are currently in the strategic planning phase and anticipate the rebuilding of the Emergency Department to cost approximately $3 million dollars.

Efraimson Sutphen Cancer Support Fund:
Essential living expenses can become burdensome during cancer treatment. This fund provides grants to qualified patients undergoing cancer treatment at the Shaw Regional Cancer Center. Financial help offsets the loss of income and the sudden increase in expenses not covered by insurance.

Jack's Place:
Jack’s Place, A Cancer Caring House, provides safe, convenient, and comfortable day or overnight accommodations for patients, caregivers, and family members while receiving treatment at the Shaw Regional Cancer Center.

Shaw Regional Cancer Center:
The Shaw Regional Cancer Center offers the world’s most advanced cancer care, featuring state-of-the-art radiation treatment. Servicing the central Rockies, our caring physicians and staff incorporate individualized cancer treatment programs to ensure the most comprehensive cancer care.

Sonnenalp Breast Diagnostic Imaging Center:
Offering the most complete and technologically advanced mammography services available, the Sonnenalp Breast Diagnostic Imaging Center provides the highest level of professional care in comfort and privacy.

ThinkFirst:
ThinkFirst is a National Injury Prevention Program providing education that targets children and teens about precautions to prevent brain and spinal cord injuries.

Women's & Children's Center:
This Obstetric and Neonatal facility delivers health care services in a relaxing and attractive setting, and completely oriented to patient and family needs. LDRP (labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum) rooms encourage earlier bonding between the mother and baby, as well as greater involvement by the partner.
