Bringing New Life to the MountainsThe Women and Children’s center now offers a comprehensive lactation program, including education, individual consultations and breast pump rental. A lactation consultant is available to help moms during their hospital stay. After discharge, a lactation consultant is available by appointment to help with any breastfeeding questions or concerns. This 1 1/2 hour class is designed to help pregnant women learn breastfeeding techniques and possible challenges of of both breastfeeding and bottlefeeding. Topics include the benefits of breastfeeding, positioning and latch-on, establishing your milk supply, how to know if baby is getting enough, pumping and storing breast milk and much more.
This class is offered the 2nd Monday of each month, 5:30-7:30 pm, at the Vail Hospital and the 4th Thursday of the month 6:30-8:30pm at the Eagle Healthcare Center. Please call 970-479-6455 (MILK) to sign-up. Use our Education Calendar to see all Women & Childrens' Center classes.
