Kristen Douhan, MEd, ATC, CSCS

Contact: 303-295-1403 or kristen@hhsmc.com |  | Kristen has been living in Colorado for the past 12 years. She completed her undergraduate and graduate degrees at Colorado State University. Kristen passed the national exam to earn her Athletic Training Certification (ATC) in 2001. Shortly after, she earned her Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) credentials. Kristen has a diverse background in sports medicine and athletics ranging from sports performance centers to Division I collegiate programs. She has served as the Medical Director for the Mountain West Basketball Championships and the NCAA Mens Division I Basketball Championships. Currently, Kristen serves as the Athletic Trainer for the USA Men's National Rugby Team. During her time away from work, you can find Kristen outside hiking, mountain biking, snowshoeing and skiing.
| Dirk Kokmeyer, PT, SCS, COMT
Position: Clinic Director, Physical Therapist

Contact: 303-295-1403 or dirk@hhsmc.com |  | Dirk has been with Howard Head Sports Medicine since 2000. He is a graduate of the Hogelschool van Utrecht school of Physical Therapy in the Netherlands. Dirk is a Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist (COMT) and a board certified Sports Certified Specialist (SCS). He has worked in orthopedics, sports medicine and strength and conditioning for over 15 years. He has treated a variety of athletes ranging from professional to high school levels. Dirk has lectured on various topics and is published in peer reviewed journals. He has developed many of the post-operative protocols used by orthopedic surgeons and acted as lead therapist for shoulder rehabilitation. Dirk is an avid snowboarder in the winter and mountain biker in the summer.

Laura received her B.S. in health and human services with an emphasis in rehabilitation in 2007. After graduating, Laura moved to Vail for two years and worked at the Howard Head clinic in Edwards as a patient representative. In her free time, Laura enjoys skiing, hiking, camping, traveling, shopping and spending time with friends and family.

Dina Proietti
Position: Director of Public Relations/Administration

|  | Dina received her B.A. from Michigan State University in 1994. After moving to Colorado, she worked for the Steadman Hawkins Clinic and Steadman Hawkins Research Foundation (SHRF) in Vail for several years. As educational/development coordinator for the SHRF, her responsibilities included the fellowship program, educational conferences and fundraising events. Dina has managed medical facilities, mostly in orthopaedics and sports medicine, for years. When Dina is not working, she spends her time telemark skiing, hiking and scuba diving.

Contact: 303-295-1403 or jana@hhsmc.com |  | Jana recently relocated to Colorado after working in outpatient orthopedic and sports physical therapy in the Chicago area for 6 years. She received her undergraduate degree in exercise science from St. Louis University in 2001 and completed a Masters in Physical Therapy at St. Louis University in 2003. After graduation, Jana went on to earn her Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) credential and became board certified as an Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist (OCS). She has treated many competitive and recreational athletes of all ages and has special interest in treating female and adolescent athletes. Jana has developed treatment guidelines and injury prevention programs for a variety of dance-related lower extremity injuries and has lectured on safe exercise guidelines during pregnancy and the post-partum period. She is excited to join the Howard Head team and enjoys the many outdoor activities that Colorado has to offer. In her free time, Jana enjoys spending time with her husband, attending sporting events, skiing, running, biking, and competing in road races and triathlons.
| Brad Schoenthaler, MSPT
Position: Physical Therapist

He received his undergraduate degree in sports medicine/biomechanics from the University of Kansas. He graduated from the KU Medical Center in 2005 with his Master's in Physical Therapy. During his education, Brad worked in the sports performance field, training athletes ranging from high school age to the professional level. His current areas of focus are in orthopedics and sports injuries. In his time away from work, Brad enjoys playing basketball, golfing, skiing, and catching the most recent live music show playing in Denver. |
