Located in the Colorado Rocky Mountains, Northstar Urology is the only state-of-the-art urology practice dedicated to caring for the patients of Eagle, Summit, Lake, Park and Chafee counties. Dr. Lloyd and Dr. Brant are certified by the American Board of Urology and are Assistant Clinical Professors of Surgery at the University of Colorado.

Granville L. Lloyd, MD
A native of Longmont, Colorado, Dr. Lloyd attended college at the University of Colorado at Boulder and majored in molecular biology and psychology. He received his MD from the integrated Dartmouth-Brown program in medical education and completed a 1-year research fellowship in prostate cancer at the University of Washington in Seattle, under a grant from the American Foundation for Urologic Disease. He received his residency training in Urology from Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois.

Dr. Lloyd practices all facets of modern urology, including oncology, stone disease, BPH/voiding dysfunction, incontinence, infertility, infection, and pediatric urology. His special interests include cancers of the genitourinary system and state-of-the art minimally invasive treatment of both prostate disease and kidney stones.

William O. Brant, MD
Dr. Brant grew up in the San Francisco Bay area, attended Dartmouth College and the University of Washington, Seattle for undergraduate and graduate schools, and obtained his medical degree at the University of California, San Diego. He completed his residencies in Surgery and Urology at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center and then pursued a fellowship in sexual medicine and surgery at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) under the direction of Dr. Tom Lue. His fellowship focused on medical and surgical treatments for penile disorders, including plastic and reconstructive issues in penile deformities and erectile dysfunction, as well as prosthetic surgeries for erectile dysfunction and urinary incontinence. His clinical research focused on issues in Peyronies disease, priapism, erectile rehabilitation, and vascular reconstructive surgery.

At UCSF’s Mt Zion Comprehensive Cancer Center, Dr. Brant started a penile rehabilitation clinic for patients who had undergone treatment for pelvic malignancies and was a member of the symptom management team for genitourinary cancers.

Dr. Brant has also been very active in the academic and educational side of Urology. He is a consultant and reviewer for several medical journals, including the Journal of Urology and the Journal of Sexual Medicine. He is a member of multiple medical organizations, including the American Urological Association, the Sexual Medicine Society, and the Society of Urologic Prosthetic Surgeons. He continues to be the Principle Investigator of multiple ongoing studies at UCSF. He has authored over 35 works, including chapters in 6 textbooks of Urology.

Dr. Brant practices General Urology, with a focus on sexual medicine and surgery. In addition to seeing patients at our offices in Frisco, Vail, and Edwards, he is an Attending Surgeon at the Denver Veterans Affairs Medical Center and at Denver Health Medical Center.
