COMMUNITIES OF THE VAIL VALLEY
East Vail - Coming into the Vail Valley from the East on 1-70, you will drop into gorgeous East Vail. A residential neighborhood surrounded by the White River National Forest, offering golf and hiking trails in the summer and snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and ice climbing in the winter.
Vail Village - Vail Village is a central access point for a variety of on-mountain activities. The enchanting pedestrian village is home to a variety of lodges, restaurants, galleries and boutiques that provide an opportunity to take a relaxing break from the rigor of outdoor activity.
Lionshead Village - Lionshead Village, another pedestrian area 3/4 mile west of Vail Village, features shops, restaurants, lodges and the Vail Valley’s only gondola. The Eagle Bahn Gondola is open in both the winter and summer to provide the fastest and most comfortable passage up Vail Mountain.
Cascade Village - The Cascade Village is the western most access point to Vail Mountain, located 1/2 mile from Lionshead.
West Vail - Only 2 miles from Vail Mountain, West Vail has a variety of affordable restaurants, shops, lodging and two supermarkets. The FREE Town of Vail Shuttle runs frequently throughout the year from West Vail to Vail Village.
Minturn - Just 10 minutes from Vail, Minturn is the historical gem of the Vail Valley, offering a peek at the past with its quaint galleries and antique shops.
Avon - The town of Avon, at the base of Beaver Creek Mountain serves residents and visitors as a commercial and recreational hub. Avon’s restaurants, shops and lodges all have a friendly, home-town atmosphere.
Beaver Creek - Beaver Creek’s enchanting European ski village includes many unique options for shopping, dining and lodging. A combination of chairlifts, skiing and hiking trails create a village-to-village connection linking Beaver Creek Village to nearby Bachelor Gulch and Arrowhead villages.
Edwards - Edwards is located four miles west of Beaver Creek. Central to Edwards is the Riverwalk, a commercial district including lodging, boutiques, restaurants, a movie theater, galleries and professional services.
Eagle - Located just 30-minutes from Vail, historic Eagle is the county seat and home to the Eagle County Regional Airport, offering affordable lodging and dining options for guests.
Gypsum - The community was named for the presence of nearby gypsum deposits. Gypsum is known for it's mild weather and affordable housing.
