Volunteer Corps

Do something good for your community and yourself! Be a Volunteer. Do you want to help others and make a difference? The Volunteer Corps is committed to making a difference in our community by caring for those who visit our facilities. Your dedication to our patients and guests well-being helps make their time with us a little easier.
Mission statement: The Volunteer Corps is committed to supporting the highest level of compassionate patient-centered care at VVMC facilities. Vision statement: To provide a meaningful volunteer experience and to be recognized as the best volunteer opportunity in our community. History:
The Vail Valley Medical Center Volunteer Corps was founded by Paula Wahle in 1979 and has grown from an original 13 members to over 200 members. Although the Volunteer Corps initially focused their efforts on fundraising for the needs of the hospital, we have become instrumental in assisting patients, guests, and staff at Vail Valley Medical Center, Shaw Regional Cancer Center, the Sonnenalp Breast Diagnostic Imaging Center and the Beaver Creek emergency department on a daily basis. On a yearly basis, we give back to the Vail Valley Medical Center over 10,000 service hours and $60,000. Special Events & Fundraising:
Organizers and committees donate many hours for the successful Volunteer Corps Fashion Show and Luncheon held annually, in addition to special events for the Volunteer Corps and the Vail Valley Medical Center.
