Become a volunteer.
Do you want to help others and make a difference? The VVMC Volunteer Corps is committed to making a difference in our community by caring for those who visit our facilities. Your dedication to our patients' and guests' well-being helps make their time with us a little easier.
Mission statement: The Volunteer Corps is committed to supporting the highest level of compassionate patient-centered care at VVMC facilities.
Vision statement: To provide a meaningful volunteer experience and to be recognized as the best volunteer opportunity in our community.
History: The Vail Valley Medical Center Volunteer Corps was founded by Paula Wahle in 1979 and has grown from 13 to over 200 members. Although the Volunteer Corps initially focused their efforts on fundraising for the needs of the hospital, we have since become instrumental in assisting patients, guests, and staff at Vail Valley Medical Center, Shaw Regional Cancer Center, the Sonnenalp Breast Diagnostic Imaging Center and the Beaver Creek Medical Center on a daily basis. Each year, we give over 10,000 service hours and $60,000 to Vail Valley Medical Center.
Special Events & Fundraising: In addition to special events throughout the year, organizers and committees donate many hours to the annual Volunteer Corps Fashion Show and Luncheon.
